2019 IRA distribution -State Taxable?? - "Missouri Distribution Amount"
In 2019, a Roth IRA distribution is taken and the amount was entered into TurboTax into the designated Gross Distribution box. Then later, TurboTax has an empty box (which does not offer a question) for "Missouri Distribution Amount". How do I know whether or not Missouri does tax IRA distributions? Does anyone know the answer? If Missouri does tax Roth IRA or traditional IRA distributions, then why wouldn't TurboTax automatically enter the amount and provide an explanation? If Missouri does not tax IRA distributions, then why is there an empty box as if to suggest I should enter an amount? Is TurboTax asking me to look up the answer somewhere in Missouri tax for guidance literature? I think TurboTax is punting the question, and if so, they should says so and give me some indication of where to go to find out the answer. Such information or line of questioning be included in the TurboTax filing program.
