Adding another Form 1099-B in Turbotax 2024

I type Form 1099-B when asks me to OPEN FORM, and I already have another one entered without any problem,  I get "Select an existing form 1099-B to open or:  Create new copy.  Enter name of broker.  When I try to Create a new copy in the space provided, I cannot enter another one or Add Form as designated.  This is a flaw and it happened to me last year. How do I add a new Form 1099-B Worksheet?

I tried what you mention and I did not have a problem entering a new Form 1099-B. When I clicked on Add Form, a new 1099-B worksheet appeared. Can you clarify what happens when you click on Add Form? You may need to clear the cache in your computer as it may not be processing properly. Also, make sure you have done the updates (Online menu then Check for Updates.)

Thank you Thomas.  I have updated my Turbotax and cleared cache but when I Quickzoom to another copy in my already installed 1099-B Worksheet, I get:  Open Form - Add 1099-B Worksheet.  In blue italics is my current 1099-B worksheet,  or (in bold lettters,) and white space to enter name of Broker,  Add Form   and   Cancel.

When I click mouse in the white space, and Add Form, it will not do anything, except clicking mouse on Cancel will let me cancel.  Since I have a duplicate Form 1099-B, I have added the one installed as a JOINT account; but:  what if I had ANOTHER 1099-B from another company, then what?

    Thank you for your concern.

I am unable to duplicate your issue in my product as well.  Please clarify when you get the "Open Form" box to "Create new copy...." You are entering/typing in the name of the new (or even same broker, if applicable) in the narrow white space box and then click "Add Form".

    When I follow the steps:

    1. Open Form

    2. Search for 1099-B

    3. Double click 1099-B worksheet

I'm unable to click Add Form to create a new 1099-B worksheet unless I enter a name in the blank white field. I see above that you mentioned that you clicked in the white space, but you'll need to actually enter the name of the broker that issued the 1099-B to be able to create the form.

    KeshaH,

I have done what you said:  Open Form, Search for 1099-B, if I click on my Broker Account that is already entered, I get the SAME one, and if I click on:  the white box, I cannot type ANYTHING in the box; if I click on or:

Create new copy.  Enter Name of Broker, I CANNOT!!!  The CANCEL button CAN BE CLICKED to get out of the page.  When I go into my Broker Account Form 1099-B that I did CREATE in the 1099-B Worksheet, the first line says to QUICKZOOM TO ENTER ANOTHER COPY OF 1099-B WORKSHEET, it takes me to MY BROKER ACCOUNT AND NOT A BLANK FORM TO ENTER NEW DATA. I am only able to enter one copy of Form 1099-B in my Tax Program.

If you are unable to import an IRS form 1099-B, you may be able to report summary information from the IRS form 1099-B.  For TurboTax Premium Online, create a .PDF of the IRS form 1099-B.  Follow these steps.

    1. Down the left side of the screen, click Federal.
    2. Down the left side of the screen, click Wages & Income.
    3. Click the down arrow to the right of Investments and Savings.
    4. Click to the right of Stocks, Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other (1099-B).
    5. Click Add investments.
    6. On the Let's import your tax info screen, select Enter a different way.
    7. On the OK, let's start with one investment type screen, select Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, then Continue.
    8. At the screen Which bank or brokerage, enter the information.  Click Continue.
    9. Do these sales include any employee stock, enter No.
    10. Do you have more than three sales, enter Yes.
    11. Do these sales include any other types of investments, enter No.
    12. Did you buy every investment listed, enter Yes.  Continue.
    13. On the screen Now, choose how to enter your sales, select Sales section totals.  Select Continue.
    14. At the screen Look for your sales on your 1099-B, select Continue.
    15. You will now be able to enter the total proceeds (sales) and cost basis, along with the sales category. Refer to your IRS form 1099-BIRS form 8949 and / or Schedule D Capital Gains and Losses for the amounts and category. When finished, select Continue
    16. You can add additional sales totals by selecting the Add another sales total on the Review your sales section totals screen.
    17. When completed, close the record and click Continue.
    18.  At the screen Now, we'll help you upload your 1099-B since the IRS requires a copy, browse and select your document.  Select Continue.
    19. When you upload your document, your filing instructions will not show that anything needs to be mailed in, and no IRS form 8453 will be generated.
