When I do the smart check it's saying to "Check This Entry" "Pen Excl Wks: Taxable pension/IRA must be entered" "Taxable pension/IRA" I don't know if this is for my federal return or my Alabama return and which of three IRA/Roth IRA distributions for myself and my wife it's regarding. This seems like a bad glitch. Please advise.

The message sounds like it's for your Alabama return and that you did not complete the interview about your retirement distributions.

Get back into the Alabama interview. Proceed until you see a screen that says, "About your retirement distributions". (Note, this is from the CD/download product - the Online version may be somewhat different).

You should see a table of your retirement distributions. On the right for each entry there is an Edit button. Click Edit for each distribution and answer the question as to whether or not the distribution is taxable in Alabama.

You can't just skip through the screen with the table, without clicking on every Edit.

When finished, go back to the Review.
