We'd love to help you complete your tax return, but need more information. Can you please clarify your question? Which state return are you filing?

@ziggy711-

And if you live in a state with an income tax, that doesn't necessarily exempt you from actually preparing and filing a state income tax return.

Even if you have a Public Pension that is exempt from being taxed in your state':

1) Some states base their requirement to prepare and file state taxes, based entirely on the Federal AGI .

2) Other states require you to file a state return to prove you are exempt......AND, even then, any other income you have...Interest, Dividends, Capital Gains from investments....other pension $$ from other work situations, those may all be subject to state taxation and have nothing to do with your state pension.  Some states may even tax SS income that might also be included on a Federal tax return.

So, maybe you do have to prepare and file your state taxes.
