Question

Are my 2024 IRA contributions covering a 12 month calendar year, or a 16 month year including JAN-APR of 2025?

And what about next year? Is it a 16 month span year after year? That makes no sense. (If it is a 12 month span, why is the form asking me to include JAN-APR of the next year?)

It is not a 16-month year.

 

Each year, before April 15, when you contribute to an IRA or Roth IRA, you have the option to designate the contribution to be for the current year or the previous year.
