Are Social Security Fairness Act benefits reported on the 2025 return or do I need to amend my 2024 return?

    If you received the payment in 2025, they will be reported on your 2025 return.  They should be included on your SSA-1099 for 2025.

    Report the payment in the year that is on the form that you received for it.
