Backdoor roth 1099-R got double Taxed for PA state return
We made backdoor roth contribution in 2021 before Dec 31. The 1099R forms show $6000 are taxable in
box 2a, possibly because the financial institution don't know whether this contribution was pre or post tax. They checked 2b (taxable amount not determined) and total distribution, presumably leaving open the possibility that I can account for this being from a post-tax contribution. Distribution code for box 7 is 2. They also checked "IRA/SEP/SIMPLE" between box 7 and 8. When I type everything in Turbotax, the fed tax stays the same, and says that I don' owe any additional tax, but the PA state tax goes up. It looks like the system considered the contributions are taxable, which is not right because these are after tax contribution, not pretax or income. How can I fix this in turbotax?
Thanks!
