Can I deduct $10,000.00 from my gross dist amt on my 1099-R. This income is from the OK Teachers Retirement System which I read qualifies for the eligible deduction.

When you put the information in for the 1099-R you received the program asks you Where is this Distribution From?

There you pick the option that it is from Government. This indicates to the program that you qualify for the $10,000 deduction for Oklahoma.
