We usually take money from our annuity to supplement our Social security, (our only other income.  We didn't apply in time to receive the money in 2021.   A tax expert said  we do not have to file since our income is only Social Security.  Does this mean we do not send in a filing?

If the Social Security benefits are the Only income to be reported on the tax return, then there is no reason or need to file a tax return.
