Question

Can I select a different state if my state isn’t in the drop-down list, and it won’t let me leave it blank?

I live in TN, but there’s a question that requires a state to be selected for the withholding and TN isn’t an option, and it won’t allow me to leave it blank. Should I select another state instead?

    Several  states do not have a state income tax.  So these states will not show up in certain drop down lists.   Leave boxes 15, 16, and 17 blank when you enter a W-2 for these states.

     

    Alaska, Florida, Nevada, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington and Wyoming
