Question

Can I still file if I don't have a 1099-R? The amount shown was a loan and not a withdrawal from my 401-k.

Unless you default on your 401(k) loan or leave your job without repaying it, a 401(k) will not be reported on a 1099-R.

You shouldn't report this loan on your tax return, so yes, you are ready to file if you've finished everything else!
