Can someone help me figure out the distribution for RMD? I have Vanguard and cannot see a statement with that information. Would it be on my 1099-R?

No, we cannot help you figure out your distribution of RMD.  No, there is nothing on the 1099-R that tells us that it is an RMD. You need to contact your representative from Vanguard to find out what your RMD is.  Typically the broker/adviser would send out a letter to let you know what your RMD for 2022 would be.   

If you have a 1099-R and you are trying to figure out whether or not you should check the box that the 1099-R represents your RMD for 2021, I would say check the box.    If you want to be sure you would have to ask your representative at Vanguard.   There is nothing on the 1099-R that tells us that it is an RMD.
