Question

Can't finish tax form without Form 1099-R fix. Should I just delete the form and submit?

Turbotax won't accept Form 1099-R no matter how many times I try. I realize this is Intuit's problem but now it's mine because it prevents me from finalizing my tax form. Is a fix coming or should I find another tax preparer? Given the number of people reporting problems with this form I have to wonder why Intuit hasn't corrected it yet.

Nothing helps. I downloaded the data directly from Thrivent and TurboTax keeps asking me to "check this entry" showing the RMD Excess Accumulation Worksheet. I have no RMD to check. It's a life insurance policy. I tried entering the data manually. Same result. This is very frustrating. I've spent hours on this with no progress.

To clarify, do you show the code 7D in box 7?

If you are using TurboTax Desktop the issue with code 4D and 7D has been fixed. Please make sure you updated the software. You might have to delete and reenter Form 1099-R.

For TurboTax Online the fix is expected by the end of the week.
