Cannot UPDATE SSA Form 1099 information in Turbotax Deluxe 2024 & other bugs

Clikcing the UPDATE button next to the line "Social Security (SSA 1099, RRB1099)" does not open any form for entering SOCIAL SECURITY income, it just returns back to same page.

Also CTL+I is not opening the item details form, and have to go through the EDIT menu.

It depends. You could edit or add the form if you switch to Forms mode. It may be best to delete your SSA-1099, then re-enter it in TurboTax Deluxe. Follow the instructions to delete the form using the link below. Then add you SSA-1099 back to your return.

Yep, that is a known BUG for the desktop software...delelteing the SS Benefits worksheet in Forms Mode might eliminate it (but I'm not sure):

.....Hope to H.E.doublehockey sticks that TTX is working on it.

That error tracks to the fact that you used a Supporting Details (SD) worksheet in a prior year for at least one of the fields on the SSA-1099 form worksheet that TTX uses in the background.

AND this year's BIG BUG is that it screws up the interview....dumping you back to the interview menu.

One workaround solution is to switch to Forms Mode, and enter your SSA-1099 data into lines A, B, C, D, E in the Soc Security benefits worksheet.  As you enter that data (lines are labeled as to what boxes are used), you should find that one or more of the entries has an SD sheet attached to it.  If you delete every SD sheet, you should get access to it in that interview again.   When you first open the SS Benefits worksheet in Forms Mode, one or more of the lines for A,B,C,D,E will have a 0. in it...that line has an SD sheet.  As soon as you try to enter a $$$ amount on that line, the SD sheet will pop up if there is one. (yeah, line C is probably blank for most people)

I suggest deleting any SD sheet you find, if you don't need it this year

    Stinks....but that's the workaround.
