Did you contribute to a traditional IRA or Roth IRA? I have a 401 k through the job is that the same.

Even though they have a similar purpose, a 401(k), and IRA, and a Roth IRA are completely different kinds of accounts that are controlled by completely different sections of the tax code.  An IRA would be an account that you opened at a brokerage or bank and that you made direct contributions to. If you only made retirement contributions through work, that is not an IRA.
