Your military retirement will be reported in the same place as any other retirement income that you received on a 1099-R. You will enter your retirement income that's on a 1099-R under the Wages and Income section of TurboTax.

 

To enter your retirement income, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Launch TurboTax.
  2. In the Federal section, select Wages & Income.
  3. Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security.
  4. Select Start or Revisit next to IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R).
