Do I have to pay taxes and an early withdraw fee on a 401a SURS retirement plan?

    Withdrawals from a SURS 401(a) account are taxable.

     

    If you are younger than age 59 1/2 at the time of withdrawal, you have to pay a 10% early withdrawal penalty unless you are in one of the exception cases listed in this TurboTax Help article.
