Do I have to use Intuit Live as a Sole Proprieter?

I finished my taxes and went to file and realized it's $100 more than last year. In the top left corner it says "Intuit Tyrbo Tax Sole Proprieter Live." Did I make a mistake by checking the "Live" option? Or is that what I have to use this year?

I don't want to clear out and start over if that's my lowest-priced option, but I know that's not what I used last year.

You are not required to use the "Live" software for any kind of return.  Using the "Live" expert help is a choice.  If you want to opt out of using Live:

If you have self-employment income and need to prepare a Schedule C for your business expenses you need to use online Premium or any version of the CD/download.

I have 1099 forms and itemized deductions.

Should I have chosen personal rather than business when I started? It won't let me downgrade, so I would have to clear out and start over. I just don't want to do that if I have to use one of the premium options.

"Premium" is the name of the online software you need to use if you are entering self-employment income and business expenses.   You do not have to use "Live" Premium, but you do need to use online Premium.   The name of the software changed--last year it was called online "Self-Employed."  Now it is called Premium.
