Do I need to file a Tax return if my social security income was $42800.No taxes are being deducted from this

    If social security was your only income, you do not need to file a tax return.  If you had any other income such as interest, dividends, or distributions from other retirement plans you likely need to file. 

    Form 1040-SR is a version of the US individual tax form that is printed in a larger font for easier reading.  By default, it is generated for individuals aged 65 and older.
