Do I need to wait for a 1099-R to file my taxes?

I am unsure if I will even receive one. I took a small loan from my job's 401k retirement plan, but am paying it through deductions.

    You will not get a 1099R for a 401k loan.  If you do not re-pay the loan, it becomes a distribution and next year you will get a 1099R.
