Question

Do I pay PA state tax on my retirement pension. Last year I did not and I was told when I started drawing that the pension was not taxable in PA?

Retirement income is not taxable in the state of Pennsylvania. Therefore, if you meet the pension plan's retirement age your retirement income is not taxable. If you have met your pension's required age for retirement, then you should see a code 7 in box 7 of Form 1099-R. Please view the Pennsylvania page for more information about reporting retirement income.
