Do you realize that my Pension in MA is not taxed? Also did you include my distribution from IRA as income, for this is not.

We in community don't have access to your account. However, you can preview your 1040 form and the state summary to check if the distribution was reported on the return and to make sure the pension was not taxed in MA.

  • Login to your account.
  • Select Tax Tools then Tools
  • Select View Tax Summary
  • From the left Menu select
  • Select Preview my 1040.
  • Check line 4 for IRA distributions. Any taxable amount is reported on line 4b
  • From the left Menu select MA Tax summary to make sure pension in MA was exempt.

MA fully exempts Social Security retirement benefits and income from public pension funds from taxation. On the other hand, other types of retirement income receive no exemptions or deductions.
