Does it matter what you make if you are of full retirement age?

No, if you are 90 years old and are still working and making $100,000 a year, it will be taxed the same as if you are 30 making the same amount.

 

The only difference is, if you are over 65, your standard deduction is higher.  If you are single, it is increased by $1,850.  If you are married it is increased by $1,500.  For your federal return, this is the only difference based on your age.
