Does my 18 year old have to file a separate return now that she’s an ‘adult’ if her 2018 income was only $5965.98?

She is my qualifying head of household dependent.

If she has W-2 income from employment, then she is not required to file. However, she should do so to claim a refund.

If her income is from wages (form W-2). she is not required to file a tax return. However, she can if she has tax withheld and wants them refunded.

If her income is from form 1099-MISC, she is required to file a tax return.

She has to indicate on her tax return that she can be claimed as a dependent by someone else.
