I'm trying to figure out how to put down my retirement fund contributions for 2024. Everything was contributed through my employer.

If you have an employer sponsored 401(k) retirement account, your contribution are shown on the W-2 in box 12 with a code of D.  You do not enter those contributions anywhere else on a tax return.

No, Typically the employer would have a 401-K.

  • If you had contributions through a payroll deduction it is accounted for on the Form W-2.
  • An indication is that Box 1 of the W-2 is less than Box 3

A 401(k) is not an IRA.
