Does this allow you to enter your deceased spouses ss number for ssa-1099 benefits?

Yes, if you are filing a joint tax return with your spouse, their Social Security number will already be included as part of the return.  Then you will be allowed to enter the SSA-1099 for the benefits they received prior to their death.  

 

If you are not filing a joint return for some reason, you would not enter your spouse's SSA-1099 as part of your return.
