Downloading Prior Years Financial Information from a Broker/Financial Institution.

This is a follow-up to a prior question, but is broader in nature.  Is it possible to download prior year 1099, etc. from a financial institution.  For example, can one today (April 30, 2025) download 1099s into the 2022 Turbo Tax software, or is that something not supported by Turbo Tax?

TurboTax only supports importing information from a financial institution for the current tax year, not for prior years.

Interesting.  TurboTax posted this on YouTube https://youtu.be/ifna4T5xj9I discussing filing returns for prior years (in this case 2021. 2022 and 2023) and they made no mention of the fact that the functionally for the prior year was limited/restricted.

I am using the 2022 Turbo Tax Desktop software on a Windows 10 Platform.  The TurboTax software recognizes my financial institution (UBS) as one of the options to download from. However, I get an error message- "1099 Forms not available for user ID." I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with UBS or more specifically with any financial institution when trying to download into prior year (in this case 2022) Turbo Tax Desktop Software?

You cannot import ("download") information from any financial institution into TurboTax for a prior year. It's not just UBS. The screens are still in the old software, but it won't work and it is not intended to work. Importing is only for the current year.
