ENTERING 1099 MISC I GET FOR AN INSURANCE SUBSIDY FROM SHERIFFS OFFICE I RETIRED FROM. QUESTIONS IN TT DONT APPLY. HOW DO I GET TT TO ACCEPT IT?

TurboTax is asking questions to make sure that the income is being taxed correctly and showing on your tax return in the correct place.

 

If the subsidy is being reported in box 7 of the 1099-Misc form then it is considered to be Self-Employment income and you need to pay Social Security and Medicare tax on that amount.

 

If you believe that the income was reported to you in an incorrect box you will need to have the employer issue you a correct 1099-Misc.
