Error on Schedule 2

Turbo Tax desktop, Tax year 2024, all updates installed.

Doing a final review and I found an error that I cannot correct.  TT filed out an amount on line 8 of Schedule 2.  I don't know where this is coming from.   Looking at Form 5329 TT thinks that some of the IRA withdrawals were NOT distributed but that's not true.  100% of the withdrawal from the t-IRA were sent to charity via QCD.  This is causing TT to add an additional amount of taxable income to line 23 of the 1040.

How do I correct this?  I've gone over the IRA income questions and all are correct?  Have I missed something or is this a TT flaw?

Hi, Bill.  Thanks for the reply but I fixed it myself.  I just deleted the four 1099-Rs for our withdrawals and then re-entered them.  Schedule 3 disappeared when I deleted the 1099's and did not re-appear after re-entering them.  Conclusion:  I must've fat-fingered something the first time around.

And yes, I turned 74 and my wife turned 73 in Ty2024.

    I appreciate your help.

First, you are at least 73, right (you must be 70 1/2 to make a QCD and 73 to be required to do RMDs)?

Second, on each 1099-R, how did you answer the following:

    1. Amount of RMD from this IRA

    2. How much of this distribution was for this RMD (from this account)?

    3. How much of this distribution was to charity?

You said, "100% of the withdrawal from the t-IRA were sent to charity via QCD", so if I understood you correctly, the answers should be

    1. The size of the distribution

    2. The entire distribution

    3. The entire distribution

So, did you mean all that or not? And if you didn't what did you mean?

And is it possible that you said that the distribution was X big but the amount to charity was Y big (less than X)?

    I meant Sked 2, not Sked 3.

    Sorry
