Filed joint. wife received social security disability $ in 2020 which included 2018-19. on1040 put info for 3yrs but didn't check lump sum box penalties and interest

form states to check box to not make the lump sum election  i paid the amount turbotax stated we owed.

The lump sum election would probably reduce your tax.

The LSE may have reduced your tax bill  however if your income is about the same each tax year chances are nothing will change  but you can use the amendment process and check it out.
