For 2023 (and likely 2024) the software in not considering my total Medicare Taxes Withheld on the Form W-2.  It incorrectly calculated an additional 0.9% Medicare tax due when my employer OVER withheld on my Medicare taxes per the W-2.  I sincerely hope this issue is resolved in the 2024 version.  Now I will need to file an amended return as I am in a refund position after this correction on Form 8959.

Part V of Form 8959 reconciles any amounts withheld by your employer.   Any additional Medicare tax withholding should be included and accounted for on line 25c of Form 1040.
