Question

From explanation of break down of federal refund, the tax bracket turbotax used is Blended Tax rate 16%. I am in tax bracket 12% in 2024. Could you tell me why

I just use turbotax online software free version to try filling my tax return. In the summary of Federal Review, I see my tax rate is blended tax rate 16%. why is that?

The blended rate that appears higher than expected may be due to self-employment tax. The blended rate includes both regular tax and self-employment tax. The formula is tax liability divided by taxable income. This rate is for your information only. It is not used anywhere else.
