Hi DoninGA, Thanks for your detail instruction. I didn't paid from the distribution therefore it's not on 1099-R form.

Hi VolvoGirl, I only mentioned 2023 because I paid for this conversion at the same time as I paid for 2023 taxes which was in Feb. '24. Yes, it causes confusion, sorry.

    You should have added this on your original thread.   But if you didn’t have the tax withholding taken out in 1099R box 4 then how did you pay it? Oh, probably as an Estimated payment?

     

    To enter Federal or State Estimated Taxes Paid, including a state estimated payment made in January for the prior year, go to

    Federal on left or at top (Personal for Home & Business)

    Deductions and Credits

    Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

    Estimated Taxes - click the start button

     

    Federal Estimated payments should be on 1040 line 26.
