Solved

Hi, Why isn't there a place to enter the Income tax withheld on our unemployment 1099-G? It only allows me to put the unemployment compensation.

There is a small box on the 1099-G entry screen that says "Federal or state income tax was withheld on this payment".

Check this box and click "Continue" to enter the amount of tax withheld on the next screen.

To get back to your Form 1099-G:

  • On the Tax Timeline, select "Federal Taxes".
  • Select "Wages and Income" on the second menu bar.

  • Scroll down to "Unemployment and paid family leave (1099-G)" and click "Edit/Add"

  • Click "Edit" next to your Form 1099-G

  • Click continue til you arrive at the screen "What's the total amount you received on your 1099-G?". This is where you will select the checkbox for tax withheld. (screenshots attached)
