Question

How can I be paying more than what my taxable income is in taxes? Is it a result of the marketplace insurabpnce pre tax benefit.

    You didn't provide much information to work with, but yes if you have to repay some or all of the excess Advance Payment of the Premium Tax Credit (APTC) the total amount you owe could be more than your taxable income.
