Question

How can I eFile if I have an excess 401k contribution in 2018?

There was a bug posted on this forum that stated this issue is going to be fixed by April 5th. It is now April 8th and I am still unable to eFile.

The answer that I have to print out 100+ pages and mail them is completely unacceptable. The only reason I purchased TurboTax is to make my life easier and eFile.

Is Intuit going to offer a refund for this VERY SIMPLE bug, that you're unwilling or unable to fix for several weeks now?

Additional interview screens have been added to make the process of correcting excess contributions easier and less confusing.

Unfortunately,  customers who had excess 401(k) contributions withheld will need to paper-file, even after taking the corrective steps.  We don't charge an e-filing fee in TurboTax Online.

When you pay for TurboTax Online, you're charged a tax preparation service fee. The prep fee is charged whether you e-file or print and mail your return.

Well that's just plain false as I was clearly charged an e-filing fee for California state taxes when using the desktop version. And forcing me to paper file is not really helping either.

How about resolving the underlying product bug instead? Has any effort been made to escalate this issue which literally hundreds of your customers have complained about?

I called phone support last night and the person also said I was the 4th person she had tried to help with this exact issue within just a few hours.
