Turbo Tax says "A Payer's City must be entered"
under Payer Information there is 2 RED fields to be filled in.  The Form 1099-R at the top says (UNTITLED). How can tell which 1099-R it is?

If the Form 1099-R is showing 'untitled' then that is most likely a blank form that has been entered in error.  If there had been a payer's name entered, then the payer's name would be listed there instead of 'untitled'.

Try editing the untitled Form 1099-R to see if you entered any numerical information in the form.  If it is empty, just delete it and see if all of your Forms 1099-R are listed on the Form 1099-R summary page.

Use the following steps to go to the Form 1099-R section to see the summary page for all 1099-Rs that have been entered:

  • On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
  • This opens a box where you can type in “1099-R” and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
  • The search results will give you an option to “Jump to 1099-R
  • Click on the blue “Jump to 1099-R” link
