Question

How can I fix it when TurboTax treats my IRA as an employer-provided pension, for which Qualified Charitable Distributions are not allowed?

The IRA manager, Mutual of America, for some reason includes "Pension Account" as part of its name. Maybe this confuses TurboTax?

If the Form 1099-R does not have the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box marked, the distribution is not from a traditional IRA and a distribution paid directly to charity is not a QCD.

You would have to check the IRA box on your Form 1099-R to have the distribution treated as a distribution from an individual retirment account.
