Question

How do I enter a 1099-NEC for my spouse from the same company as the company I got a W-2 from? (got error message "Oops! it looks like you're entering your spouse's info"

The error message will not allow me to continue with the tax return. How do I get around this?

This was an issue that has been resolved.  If it is still happening to you, it is likely a browser error.  

 

Use the Chrome browser and clear all browser data, then sign in to TurboTax

Delete the 1099-NEC

  • Then add it again
  • Federal
  • Wages and Income
  • Income for 1099-NEC
  • When you enter that is is for you spouse, you should no longer get the error.

The oops looks like you are entering a 1099-NEC for you spouse was meant to be a warning message, but not to stop the program from continuing.  It should not appear at all now.
