How do i enter my 2024 IRA contribution if i don’t have the 1099-R?

    A Form 1099-R is only issued if there is a distribution from the account.

     

    To enter, edit or delete an IRA contribution -

    Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
    Click on Deductions and Credits
    Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
    Scroll down to Retirement and Investments
    On Traditional and Roth IRA Contributions, click the start or update button

     

    Or enter ira contributions in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ira contributions

    Form 1099-R reports distributions, not contributions.  

     

    If you made an IRA contribution, you enter that information into your return without needing any particular tax form.  Use the instructions in the TurboTax help article below:
