Do I leave off unemployment benefits if I didn't get a 1099-G?

Unemployment benefits are taxable and have to be entered on your tax return. You cannot leave them off your return.

If you do not have form 1099-G, you can contact the agency paying your benefits to obtain a copy, or if you have an online account for unemployment, you can log into your account to print out your form 1099-G.
