Question

How do I get my money back if I made a mistake on my state taxes? I am a retired state employee of 34 years and should not owe state taxes.

I accidently paid $160 two times to Louisiana Internal Revenue for state taxes that I should not owe.

If you filed your state tax return but made an error then you will have to amend your state tax return.  But please wait until your refund or payment is processed.  Please see How do I amend my state tax return? for instructions.
