Question

How do I get TT to treat a roth distribution reported on a 1099r with box 2a blank and box 2b checked as a non-taxable distribution?

TT instructions state to enter information exactly as it appears on 1009r, but see no option to indicate that the distribution is a non-taxable distribution (initial contributions we made via after tax $'s)

You must click the Continue button on the Your 1099-R Entries page and answer the follow-up questions, including entering your basis in Roth IRA contributions and Roth conversions needed to allow TurboTax to properly prepare Form 8606 Part III to calculate the taxable amount of the distribution.
