Question

How do I indicate that I did not own a Roth IRA?

I did not own a Roth IRA. The question on Turbotax does not give me the option to say this. What do I do?

    If you selected the Roth IRA contribution accidentally then please follow these steps to remove them:

     

    1. Login to your TurboTax Account 
    2. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “IRA contributions” 
    3. Click on “Jump to IRA contributions"
    4. Deselect “Roth IRA” and confirm that you want to remove the Roth IRA.

     

    If you are getting Roth IRA questions after you enter a Form 1099-R then please review your entry of the code in box 7. Roth IRAs use codes J, T, or Q in box 7.
