How does turbo tax carry forward IRA with no RMDs

How does turbo tax carry forward prior year IRAs when no 2020 RMDs were taken due to CARES act exclusion option.

The only things related to IRAs that TurboTax ever carries forward are those things that are recorded on TurboTax's IRA Information Worksheet. Those things are basis in nondeductible traditional IRA contributions, basis in Roth IRA contributions and conversions, and any excess contributions. TurboTax does not calculate RMDs and only prepares your tax return based on what you tell it regarding your RMDs. Choosing not to take a distribution in 2020 simply means that you don't have that distribution to report on your tax return.
