How is a qualified Qualified Tax-exempt Distribution entered in Turbo Tax?

The Fidelity 1099 box 2b is checked that says taxable amount not determined. Fidelity stated they do not certify that the distributions are to a qualified tax exempt organization; and won't. How do I correctly enter my tax free distribution to my charities in turbo tax?

Is this a QCD (qualified charitable distribution)? That is, you are at least 70 1/2 (at the time of the distribution, that is), that this is from an IRA, and you asked Fidelity to make a direct transfer to a charitable organization?

If so, the 1099-R does not have an entry on it for the QCD; instead, you are asked questions in the screens after you enter the numeric data for the 1099-R.

If you were the right age (otherwise, you would not even see these questions), TurboTax will ask you if the distribution was directed to a charity, and if so, how much.

Just make sure you finish the 1099-R interview, and you will be all right.
