How safe is it to give Tubo Tax my password to my IRA to export my 1099 form information automatically?

It's very safe.  You are visiting your institution's site and logging in directly there, so your information is not stored anywhere on the Intuit TurboTax computers.  TurboTax never actually "sees" your data, and we take the security of your personal information very seriously.  We know that you place a great deal of trust in us when you prepare your taxes! 

If you are not comfortable providing that information, it is not necessary to do so.  You can type the information from your 1099-R for your IRA yourself in just a few steps.
