I have uploaded the information from my SSA form 1099. Disability when trying to transmit it takes me to section C line2Y. It indicates the amount of money distributed 27649 However it tells me it cant be more than I cant enter more than the amount of 22771.00 reported on my federal tax form. I ve checked it several tiimes and the amount entered is the amount given on the form 1099 27648. I cannot efile until this is resolved.
What type of income do you have? The SSA-1099 is for social security benefits. The 1099-SA is for 1099-SA, Distributions From an HSA, Archer MSA, or Medicare Advantage MSA.
IF you are trying to enter social security benefits, then you would enter in the retirement section under the social security where it says SSA-1099.
If you are trying to enter other retirement benefits such as a Pension or 401K withdraw, you would enter this in the retirement section where it says 1099-R Pension, 401K's, etc.
Whichever form you have in hand, look for that form on the list or use the jump to feature in the search bar. To do this type in your form name and hit search, then click Jump To.

A SSA-1099 cannot be uploaded to your tax return. It has to be entered manually.
To enter Social Security benefits reported on form SSA-1099
Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business) Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business) Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown) Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security On Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099), click the start or update button
Or enter ssa-1099 in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to ssa-1099
This is either an incompetent or lazy response. If we had SSA1099 in the drop down menu, we would USE it. I'm making my 2nd call because someone told me to use 1099SA! That form has nothing to do with retirement!
