How would I know if I added money into an IRA?

Would this mean adding out of pocket payments? Would it mean the money that is taken from paychecks?

    It depends. It appears you have funds withdrawn from your paycheck to fund your retirement account. The question is asking if you made an additional contribution to your IRA besides the payroll deductions, which are reported on your W2.
