I accidentally noted that I received retirement distribution related to a disaster. Is there a way to undo?

Yes, you can correct the entry. TurboTax creates Form 8915 – Qualified Disaster Retirement Plan when you indicate that you received a disaster related retirement distribution. You can delete the form and that should resolve your issue. Follow the instructions below to delete the form.

  1. Launch TurboTax
  2. Click on Tax Tools on the menu bar on the left
  3. Click on Tools
  4. Under Other helpful links, click on Delete a Form
  5. Scroll down and check for Form 8915 and if there is one, click on Delete
  6. Click on the blue Delete Selected Form
  7. At the bottom, Continue
  8. At the bottom, Continue with my Return

Return to the Disaster Relief screens to verify that the disaster related retirement distribution is corrected. Type 1099-r in the search screen and the top and select jump to 1099-r. Go through the interview screens and make sure that you say that you did not receive a disaster distribution.

I had to delete the qualified disaster distribution form as well. However, this worked. Thank you!
